After a strong performance from all participants, UD Trucks Australia is thrilled to announce our 2024 Australian Extra Mile finalist - Matt Modra, Owner Driver of MA & RC Modra!
Based in Adelaide, Matt performed impressively throughout the 3-week Challenge. Excelling across all competition criteria including Fuel Efficiency, Idling, Manual Mode and Power Mode.
Matt will now go on to represent Australia in the October Global Final at the home of UD Trucks in Japan, at our Ageo Experience Centre. He will be accompanied by his Sales Representative, Bill Smith, from South Central Truck & Bus and coached by his Key Driver Trainer, Pat Ryan.
Matt Modra has been in the Transport Industry for 22 years. He works as a subcontractor in the distribution of structural building materials, currently contracting to APEX Steel.
Matt has been a part of the wider VGA family over the years and proudly operates a Quon GK 17 420 prime mover. A truck that he purchased brand new in 2020 with a front mounted crane, for the delivery of Colourbond roofing steel & structural steel.
Matt, along with other participating drivers, have expressed their gratitude in being able to compete in this year's UD Extra Mile Challenge. Noting the significant personal, operational and cost saving benefits it has delivered to their businesses thanks to Pat Ryan's expert Driver Development Training and engagement throughout the competition.
Naturally, Matt is absolutely thrilled to be heading to the final later this year, and our team is equally excited to see him make UD Trucks Australia proud!
