New Year's greeting from President UD Trucks

top mark

On behalf of UD Trucks, I would like to wish everyone a happy new year. In 2022, we look forward to helping create sustainable transportation solutions that make life better for people and the planet.

The COVID-19 pandemic has continued to pose tremendous challenges globally. Beyond the ongoing health crisis, supply chain constraints are impacting businesses everywhere. In these trying times, I am humbled to know just how important logistics is to a well-functioning society. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our customers and business partners for their unwavering support.

In 2021, UD Trucks ownership was transferred from Volvo Group to Isuzu Motors, as part of a strategic alliance between Volvo and Isuzu. For UD Trucks, this alliance will bring about greater economies of scale and investment in next generation technologies that will drive cleaner and more sustainable solutions across our industry.

Last year, UD Trucks introduced UD Active Steering to its flagship heavy-duty Quon in Japan – a technology that enhances safety and reduces driver fatigue. We also introduced the Euro 5 heavy-duty Quester and medium-duty Croner to emerging regions around the world that are moving to adopt more stringent international emission standards in a bid to cut pollution and improve air quality.

Looking at the year ahead, innovation and multi-stakeholder collaboration will be critical in creating a more sustainable world. This is our purpose, and we call it Better Life. It is our commitment to making life better, for people and the planet.
