The Technology team at UD Trucks India Private Limited is the only R&D site outside Japan and is responsible for the complete development of heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks for UD Trucks Corporation.
The Technology team is responsible for the design and development of Vehicle & Powertrain Systems and Components for heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks. The team develops parts with global suppliers through their Purchasing organization and support six overseas manufacturing facilities located in Thailand, South Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya through their Operations organization. Our products are designed and tested to meet the highest standards and comply with all applicable regulations and safety requirements.
Our expertise covers the entire truck development process, from concept to production, and we work closely with our customers and markets to understand their needs and requirements.

Our facility is equipped with innovative tools and equipment to conduct research into various automotive technologies. Our facilities include Design Centers, Electrical & Electronics Lab, Virtual Reality Lab, Project Vehicle Assembly, Rig Test facility and state-of-art Test Track.
Our areas of Research include Lightweight Materials, Advanced Powertrain Systems, Autonomous Driving, Vehicle Electrification, Connected Solutions, Smart Mobility, and Advanced Manufacturing. We work closely with industry partners, government agencies and academic institutions to collaborate on research projects and share our knowledge, expertise and resources.
